Rapid Langtang Valley Trek Itinerary
Expand allDay 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, Trek to Rimche
You will be traveling through the beautiful towns of Nepal as you take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, dhunche a small village which serves as the starting point to the Langtang Valley trek. The road further makes its way along Trishuli river and hills, through forests with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu, Upon arrival, you will have kunch in Syabrubesi and prepare for the trek.
As you continue the lower trail to Bamboo on the second phase of the adventure today, you will cross the Bhote Koshi River and the ancient Syabrubesi civilisation. You will walk 8.6 km down the river through dense pine and rhododendron woodland in the second stretch, which takes around 4 to 5 hours to complete. At last, you will reach Rimche. After a long, exhausting journey, you will rest here tonight.
Day 2: Trek From Rimche (2,450 m) to Langtang Valley (3,430m)~~( 6-7 hours) ~ ( 12 km) ~/ (9,80 meters)
We will begin early and proceed to continue on the paths of Langtang Khola (river). Many rain-rich forests will surround us most falling under thick rhododendron and bamboo, with sometimes glimpses of Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Ganesh Himal, Naya Kangri, Yala Peak, Dorje Lapka, Gang Cheenpo peak.After crossing a suspension bridge, the path ascends steadily. On route are small villages namely Pahiro, and Bamboo before you arrive at the Lama Hotel, which is a small quaint village found right inside the forest. Animals such as red panda, musk deer, snow leopard, wild dog, goral, serow, and several others can be spotted.After Climbing a steep segment to the Ghora Tabela (2,950 meters), you will ascend up across the old Langtang Village, Thangshep at an elevation of (3,190 meters), and finally arrive at the new Langtang Valley, known for its mesmirizing beauty and popular trekking routes.
Day 3: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,850m) ( 4-5 hrs walk) ~/~( 6 km) ~/ ( 420 m)
The trek today is relatively short than other day but yet more challenging due to the altitude. We will continue following the Langtang Valley, heading toward Kyanjin Gompa, the final destination for this trek.The landscape begins to open up, we can witness the towering peaks around us. This area is a spiritual hub for the local Tamang people, and the Kyanjin Gompa (a Buddhist monastery) is an important pilgrimage site. Kyanjin Gompa offers breathtaking views of the Lantang II, Lantang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa Himal, Tserko Ri, and Loenpo Gangand nearby glaciers. There’s also a cheese factory in the area that produces famous local cheese which you can try. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa, and you can relax or take short walks around to acclimatize.
Day 4: Explore Kyanjin Ri and Return to Kyangin Gompa (3,850m) and Rimche (2,450 m) ~/ ( 18-20 km) ~/ ( 6-7 hrs walk) ( 4,70 m)
If you’re feeling well-acclimatized, early in the morning we can hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,700m), a viewpoint, for the panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, and the surrounding peaks. It’s just a 2-3 hour hike up, and the view is just wow! The rewards of this day’s journey include an amazing view of the Langtang region from this high elevation location, which includes the Kyanjin Gompa and Lirung Tsang Glacier, the Langtang’s largest glacier.
After returning from viewpoint or spending some time at the monastery, we will begin to descend.The journey takes around 8-9 hours to reach Rimche, following the same path downwards and have a delicious meal after a long and tiring day and stay at Rimche Overnight.
Day 5: Trek from Rimche (2,380m) To Syaprubesi (2,450 m) and Drive to Kathmandu (1324m) ~/~( 6-7 hrs)~ (18-20 km)
It’s the last day of your trek, a day to bid farewell to this beautiful valley. Today is a much easier than other days, the trek will be easy and vibrant and full of lush green landscapes. After a short 4- 5 hours trek, arriving at Syabrubesi,having your tasty local meal you will take land transportation and drive back to Kathmandu and reach kathmandu in 7-8 hrs.
