The Royal Trek in Nepal
The royal trekking is a short and easy trek at the maximum elevation of around (2170 m)/ (7119 feet) in the foothills of the Annapurna with the stunning views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. This route is known as royal trek because the Britain’s Prince Charles and his 90 person entourage explored the route in the early eighties when he visited Nepal. The royal trek begins from beautiful city Pokhara, which is well known for Himalayan range, numerous small and large lakes, temples and natural caves. Moreover, you can take part in various adventure activities such as boating, rafting, bungee jumping and canoeing. Then, the trail goes through amazing gurung and magar village, and come to an end in chitwan national park’s wilderness. The royal chitwan national park is home to 56 types of mammals (one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger sloth bear and so on), reptiles, measure fish, butterflies, and other animals.

1) Foods and lodging
Along the trek, you can find basic teahouses or lodges for accommodation. However, this is a less crowded routes, accommodation may be limited compared to more popular treks. But the teahouses offer a cozy place to rest, enjoy warm meals dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), momo (dumplings), and interact with fellow trekkers.
2) Best time to trek
Spring (March to May) and Autum (September to November) is the best time to royal trek in Nepal. The day time temperature is moderate with cool environment and the skies are clear. The whole environment is filled with the pleasant of variety of wild flowers and green forests. Similarly, autum is a festive season in Nepal, at that time you can enjoy different Nepalese festivals.

The royal trek comes under Annapurna region. So, to trek in Annapurna region, you need two different permits.

The first day of our royal trek will be started from a drive to Bijaypur Khola from where we begin our 4 to 5 hours trek for today to reach Kalikasthan at an altitude of 1370 meters. It will take us about an hour to reach Bijaypur from Pokhara from where we will be moving through the paddy fields and cross the river and small trails which will ascend to Kalikasthan. We will be staying overnight at a guesthouse in Kalikasthan.
We will be hiking throughout the villages and walk along the mountain ridges with the best views of Annapurna range as well as Lamjung Himal. The rhododendron forest is also the centre of attraction for today’s trek. We will be staying overnight at an altitude of 1730 meters in Syaklung after a trek of about 5 to 6 hours.
Exploring through the Gurung village on the Third day observing the lifestyles of the locals will be included in today’s routine. Our trekking route will be accompanied by the rhododendron and Sal trees as well; we will move ascending and descending to reach Chisapani at 1550 meters from where we will be observing the best views of Mount Dhaulagiri to the west of Annapurna. We will stay overnight at a guest house here after 5 to 6 hours of walk.
We will be descending from Chisapani to Rupatal and ascend to reach Sundare Danda from where we will reach Begnas Taal (Lake) and enjoy an hour of boating. From here you will be transferred to the hotel in Pokhara where you can have plenty of rest as well as stroll around the market place. You will be staying overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.
You can either return back to Kathmandu taking a 30 minutes flight or 5-6 hours of bus tour to Kathmandu. You have also an option to extend your tour or trekking with us.
