1) Best Season for Pikey Peak Trek

Trekking to the Pikey Peak is favourable in every season but the best time provides you best experience till the end. And the different seasons will offer you with different landscapes, environment, and experience. So Autum (September, October November) and Spring (March, April, May) both are considered as the best time of the year for Pikey Peak Trek.

The weather and temperature during Autum are mid and favourable for trekking. The day time temperature ranges between 9-15 degrees in the Everest Region. You will seea slight decrease in temperature as you trek to a higher altitude. It is also known as post-monsoon period so you have to be a bit careful in the month of September as you might have to go with some light rainfall. As always nights are colder but you’ll do goods with some warm gears.

Spring is the pre -monsoon period as it is the time when nature regenerates flowers bloom during this time. The daytime temperature ranges between 10-20 degrees during this season.


2) Altitude Sickness

Throughout this trek, you will be trekking in the isolated mountain region for more than a week beginning from the 2000 meters and ascending at the maximum at 4065 meters. As a result, altitude sickness is a real possibility at such a high altitude. When it comes to this illness one should be proactive and notify the guide as soon as the symptoms like headache, nausea, tiredness, etc appear.

4) Accommodation and Foods

In lower altitude, the tea houses provide you with single rooms with attached bathroom. But as you trek higher the facilities get limited. Mostly, you will find a twin- sharing room and common rest room.

Similarly, all the foods will be cooked by the local cook by using local vegetables, so the taste would be very local. It is worth to try cheese, things ( fermented millet beer), honey and local potatoes while you are on trek at Pikey Peak. At the same time you can also have pizza, burgers, bakery products and other items in Lukla and Namche Bazzaar.  However, Dal bhat  are the most common foods.


5) Travel Insurance

Trip Itinerary

Upon your arrival at the international airport, you will be welcomed by our office staff. Then he will help you to transfer to your hotel. You can take some rest in the hotel or walk around the streets of Kathmandu in the evening. Evening includes welcome dinner in a cozy and authentic Nepalese restaurant with folk culture program of Nepal while having your dinner.

Today is the day you will officially leave for your trip to Pikey Peak. You will take local or private bus from Kathmandu to Bhandar.  On the way, you will have a scenic Karnali river bank views with the views of gorgeous mountains of the Himalayas. After reaching Bhandar, you will take rest at one of the teahouses at Bhandar. And overnight at Bhandar.

port which is 18.9 km away from Namkheli. On reaching Namkheli, you will stay overnight at one of the teahouseOn this day, you will trek to Namkheli from Bhandar. You will move up towards Namkheli from Bhandar where you have to climb different up hills and down hills surrounding yourself with the beauty of awesome Himalayas. Between Bhandar and Thorung you can find around five different airports. Among these airports, the closest to Namkheli is Jiri airs.

On this day, you will start your trek from Namkheli to explore the Ngamor Gumpa. It is a culturally significant Gumpa. Between your treks, you will take a break to have your lunch. After having your lunch you will descend towards a steep hill before you reach Ngamor Gumpa.

After spending your quality time in the Ngamor Gumpa, today you will be trekking towards the Pikey Danda or Pikey Peak. After reaching up to the Pikey Peak, you will get a chance to view some of the magnificent mountains of the Everest region such as Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, and Dhaulagiri. after exploring the mountains and the beautiful scenery from the top, you will head down towards Jhapre.  And overnight at Pikey Danda.

After up to pikey peak, you will descend towards junbesi. You will follow the way to Jasa Bhajyang, surrounding yourself with Kanchenjunga and Dhaulagiri mountain range as well as the Everest. The down hills trekking route to Junbesi Valley offers you a beautiful landscapes along with eye-catching natural beauty. And overnight at Junbesi.

You will wake up early in the morning and head towards Thutungchheli Monastery from Junbesi. The Thutungchheli monastery is also known as little Tibet where you will get to learn about the ancient and traditional Tibetan Medical Therapy. After exploring the Thutungchheli monastery, you will head back to Junbesi.

You will leave Junbesi on this day and start walking towards Sete. You will take ascend through Lamazura which is the highest point of today’s trek, standing at the height of 3050 meters. From Lamazura La Pass you will head downwards to reach Sete. It sits at an altitude of 2520 meters. The first ascend to Sete is quite steep taking you to the village inhabited by Sherpa people.

Today, you will wake up early in the morning and head towards Bhandar from Sete, admiring the beautiful mountain vistas along the way. The trekking offers you exciting and thrilling foot path. And overnight at Bhandar.

Early in the morning, you will take a local or private bus to Kathmandu. Viewing the exotic scenery just from your window, you will reach Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel.
