Overview

Sikles Trek:

Sikles Trek is a short and easy trekking trip that takes us through beautiful Gurung-inhabited villages. Along with amazing landscape sceneries and views of stunning snow-capped mountains, Sikles trek initiates as we drive from Kathmandu to the scenic naturally blessed city Pokhara followed by a short drive to Milan Chowk and start trekking activity towards Kharpani.

We can enjoy a natural hot spring at Kharpani. And after that we move through a beautiful Gurung village called Ghalegaun, enjoying a very satisfying view of Nepalese locals sharing their common culture with each other and tourists also.

At around 2,000m of altitude, we can get great views of Annapurna and Lamjung Himal from here. Sikles Trek is a short few days of trekking around scenic Gurung villages around Pokhara. There is no fear of altitude sickness and challenging walks. Sickles have been known by most of the tourists who have visited Nepal.

Therefore, we recommend this Sikles Trek for every travel lover who wants to explore the best of nature and culture around Pokhara. Join Nepal Holiday Treks and Tours for the best services while planning to go on this trek.

Best season to trek on Sikles?

Spring and autumn seasons are the peak seasons for Sikles Trek. The spring season begins from the month of March and ends in May. While autumn season begins from the month of September ad ends in November. The routes for sikles are crowded by tourists/trekkers from all around the world during these months.

Transportation:

It is very difficult to go on a local vehicle to start our trek on Sikles , so if you want a private jeep or a vehicle, we’ll provide you a private vehicle with a driver and a guide to you for the exploration of the way to Sikles and enjoy the beautiful scenes of mountains and Trishuli river on the route. And if you plan to go on a public vehicle, you’ll have to change the vehicles time to time; the first public vehicle will drop you to Pokhara from Kathmandu, and the second vehicle from Pokhara to Sikles.  Our private vehicle will also drop you from Timag (last destination of trek) to Kathmandu where our International Airport is located.

Accommodation facility on Sikles trek:

You can find some basic tea house accommodation during the trek. There are many hotel, lodges, guest house facilities alongside Pokhara, but in Sikles most tourists prefer to stay a night camping because of the lack of needed facilities around the place.

Food availability on Sikles trek:

Three meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) which you can choose from the menu. But during the first day of trek, you can only have a breakfast at Pokhara. In Sikles, tourists have to bring their food by their own.  There are no shops to buy food from. But you can find some tea house from where you can buy some omelets, boiled eggs, tea, toast, etc.

Highest altitude during Sikles Trek:

The highest altitude during the Sikles trek is when you reach Namun-la Pass, Namun-la Pass trek reaches an altitude of approximately 5,300 meters (17,388 feet) above sea level. This makes it a high-altitude trek that requires proper acclimatization and preparation due to the thinning air and potential altitude-related challenges. Trekkers typically approach Namun-la Pass from the Manang side as they continue on the Annapurna Circuit trek, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks along the way.

Altitude sickness:

The village is at an elevation of 1,980m and the maximum elevation gain during this trek is 2,200m. So, there is very little or no chance of getting altitude sickness. Therefore, Sikles trek is appropriate for all age groups of travelers having good physical fitness. But on the route to Sikles via Namun La Pass; we have to pass from almost more than 5600m, which may cause a little altitude sickness to the beginners.

Travel Insurance:

We strongly recommend you to get travel insurance before going on a trek. Make sure that, your insurance covers accidents abroad and high in the mountains. We do our best to take care of you, but sometimes we have to face unavoidable accident that is out of our control. So, in case of a medical emergency, leading to a helicopter evacuation, it is best to have insurance for your personal safety.

Guide and Porters:

According to Nepal tourism board all the trekking activities should be conducted along with a government-licensed guide and porter. Your safety is our first priority. So our guide and porter are dedicated to making your experience of trekking in Nepal a memorable one without compromising your safety. Along with your safety we also focus on our guide and porter safety too. Notably, our guide and porter are provided with insurance facility.
