1) Climate and weather

Every season is suitable for Everest Base Camp yoga trek in Nepal. But, the different season enhance your trekking experience differently. So spring and autumn is mainly considered as best season for Everest. It the same time monsoon and winter is also good to trek.

Spring (March, April, May) at EBC is one of the best times of the year to visit. The temperature warms up rapidly but the night remains still cold and chilly, dropping to below freezing. The weather is generally bright with clear skies, days are longer with enough sunlight hours and few clouds, and view of the summit is awesome. 

Autumn (September, October, and November) is another best season for Everest with the skies being clear once more after the monsoon rains and the landscape still and verdant as ever. Bright sunshine is warming, with highs of up to 17°C, though the winds can still be strong and cold, making it feel cooler.


2) Foods

During the trek, you will find tea houses and lodges along the trail that offer a variety of hot cooked with a choice of both Nepali and western meals and snacks. The meals include energy giving food and liquid food like rice, cereals, lentils soup, noodles soup, hot tea, potato etc. It’s advisable to stick to hot and freshly cooked meals to avoid any health issues.


3) Accommodation

Along the Everest base camp trek route, there are numerous tea houses and lodges that provide basic accommodation facilities. Rooms are available on a twin-sharing basis. Each room comes with two beds, blankets, and occasionally shared bathrooms. Almost all tea houses have hot showers available which are mostly gas heated somewhere they offer buckets filled with hot water for bathing purpose. Wifi is available everywhere in the khumbu (Everest) region. A good and reliable speed is not guaranteed.


4) Travel insurance

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu Then Transfer To Hotel

On your arrival to Kathmandu from Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), the representative from Nepal Holiday Treks and Tours welcome you and then you shall be transferred to the categorized Hotel in Kathmandu to which you are comfortable with. Later in the afternoon, you shall have 2 hours yoga session, yogic breathing, and meditation.

Day 2 : Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding

This morning take a scenic flight to Lukla, gateway to the Everest region flying over the Langtang and Jugal ranges that surround the Kathmandu basin and the Rolwaling Himal. After lunch at the riverside village of Ghat, we begin our expedition with a series of short trekking days to ensure we acclimatize. Following the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, we begin our ascent to Phakding where we spend the night.

Day 3 : Trek from Phakding to Namche bazaar

Our trek will begin with a quick 1-hour yoga and meditation session for the relaxed beginning of the day. Crossing the river on a large suspension bridge we head over to Jorsale and continue trekking along the river today. The trail climbs out of the valley to Monjo where we enter the Everest National Park. Continuing on, we make a steep ascent to reach Namche Bazaar, our resting place for the night. To end the day, you will have another 2 hours of yoga and meditation session. Namche Bazaar is the gateway to the Himalayas and a famous trading place.

Day 4 : Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

Before we set off on a steep climb to the Shyangboche airstrip which serves the famous Hotel Everest View there will 3-hour yoga meditation session and will be following the trail down to the Khumjung Village at the foot of the Sacred Mountain Khumbila. The panoramic mountain views en route today are superb.

Day 5 : Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Our trek will begin with a quick 1-hour yoga and meditation session for the relaxed beginning of the day. A steep walk takes us to the Mong La pass today with spectacular views of Ama Dablam and Khumbila mountains. Our camp for the night is in the very traditional Sherpa village of Phortse, where we may spot mountain goats or Danfe, the national bird of Nepal.

Indeed there will 1 more yoga and meditation session for an hour to end the day and better start of tomorrow.

Day 6 : Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

With 1hour yoga and meditation session in the morning, we will start the day further up on the trail. Enjoy wonderful views of Tengboche and Ama Dablam Mountain during this morning’s ridge climb up the Imja Khola Valley to the village of Upper Pangboche with its ancient monastery. After lunch we continue up the glacial valley to Dingboche, passing some of Khumbu’s beautifully carved prayer stones.

After a busy day of exploring Khumbu, we will end the day with our regular session of 1hour yoga and meditation session. Overnight will stay in Phortse.

Day 7 : Acclimatization day at Dingboche

Before moving to higher altitude, a proper rest day is provided on this day and you will be doing your 2 hours yoga and meditation session at Chukkung. Today we’ll experience one of the highlights of the trek with an excursion to the incredible Chukkung Valley, flanked by Lhotse Mountain to the north, Ama Dablam to the south and the great fluted ice walls of the Amphu Laptsa Pass. We trek back to Dingboche where there is the option to spend a second night or trek on to Duglha.

Day 8 : Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

Beginning the day with regular 1hour of yoga and meditation, we will continue our journey; the trail gradually climbs to the tiny settlement of Duglha, nestled below the terminal Morraine of the Humbu Glacier. From here there’s the option to take a side trip to a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking Tshola Tsho glacial lake with a dramatic backdrop of rugged peaks including Cholatse, Taboche and the mountains at the head of the Khumbu Valley. Back on the trail, it’s a steep climb up to Lobuche, where we can watch the sunset over Nuptse Mountain.

Regular 1 hour of yoga and meditation will be the end of the day and we will be staying here for today.

Day 9 : Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep via EBC.

Continuing with 1 hour of yoga and meditation along the main trail to Everest, we hike to Gorakshep. This is a short distance but somewhat challenging at the present altitude. From here we can follow in the footsteps of the late, great Sir Edmund Hillary and trek up to Everest Base Camp, where he and Tenzing Norgay began their immense, record-breaking expedition to reach the highest Peak on Earth! Take in the atmosphere and witness the ‘expedition life’ of those present-day mountaineers attempting to reach the summit. Return to Gorakshep where we spend the night. After reaching Gorakshep there will be an evening session of yoga and meditation to get relax.

Trek to Gorekshep then hike to Everest base camp then mediation at EBC.

Day 10 : Trek from Gorak Shep to Pangboche via Kala Patthar.

On day 10 we climb Kala Pattar for arguably the most magnificent mountain vista in the world – the west and south face of Everest, so close you can even see the incredible climbing route from base to summit. After reaching there will be yoga and meditation session on top. We descend back to Gorkashep for a rest before continuing our journey to Pheriche for the night.

Day 11 : Trek from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar

It will be a busy day today, so early 1hour of yoga and meditation is provided. Then our route today starts back through the long walled paths of the Pheriche Village and a gradual ascent along the flanks of the hills below the village before a drop to the Duh Koshi. A little further the route joins the main trail coming from Pheriche. We pass through the village of Pangbouche and stop for lunch in Thyangbouche.  After lunch, we descend steeply to Phunki Tanga. After a short break, we start the uphill climb to Shanasa where they’ll be the opportunity to purchase traditional souvenirs from Tibetan traders. From Shanasa, we take an easy trail to reach Namche Bazaar.

In Namche, 1 hour of yoga and meditation will be conducted to restore your body strength.

Early in the morning meditation at the hotel then trek to Tengboche and Evening time meditation at the hotel.

Day 12 : Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Early in the morning meditation at the hotel then trek to Namche Bazaar and Evening time mediation at the hotel.

In the morning on our final day,  regular 1 hour of yoga and meditation starts the day, we retrace our steps downhill through the beautiful forest landscapes, continuing back to Jorsale, here we leave the national park before stopping for a rest in Monjo. We further re-trace our steps along the Dudh Kosi, crossing to the western bank at Benkar. Lunch will be taken at Phakding and in the afternoon we ascend out of the river valley back to the airstrip and our lodge accommodation at Lukla.

Day 13 : Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.

We fly back to Kathmandu to spend our final days at leisure. Sightsee, shop or simply relax after our exhausting but momentous adventure – the choice is yours.

Day 14 : Final Departure from kathmandu.

On this day, you shall be transferred to the International Airport at least 3 hours before your flight for the onward destination by a representative of Nepal Holiday Treks and Tours.
