Trip Information

Overview

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Then Transfer To Hotel. (1,400 meters | 7 km | 30 minutes)

Your journey begins the moment you land at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our tour representative will meet you at arrivals and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours, freshen up, take a gentle stroll through the bustling streets nearby and soak in that unmistakable Nepali energy. In the evening, there is a short orientation about the days ahead. Sleep early, the Pilgrimage begins tomorrow.

Day 2: Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu (1,400 meters | 40 km | 1.5 - 2 hrs)

First stop in the morning is Boudhanath Stupa and trust me, nothing quite prepares you for the first time you see it up close. It is massive. Walk around it with the locals, spin the prayer wheels, watch the monks do their morning rounds. It is a living, breathing place of worship, not just a tourist site. After that we head up to Swayambhunath, also called the Monkey Temple. It is perched on a hill above the city. Great views, great energy. After lunch, if you are up for it, we will swing by Patan’s Mahabuddha Temple or just wander through Thamel where you will find thangka paintings, singing bowls and all kinds of Buddhist art. It is a full day but a good one.

Day 3: : Sightseeing in Dhulikhel Namobuddha

We drive about 30 km out of Kathmandu to Dhulikhel, a quiet hilltop town where you can actually see the Himalayas without the city noise. Then we head to Namobuddha and this place is something else. The legend here says that Prince Mahasattva, in a past life of the Buddha, gave his own body to feed a starving tigress and her cubs. Heavy story. Beautiful place. The Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery up on the hill is colorful, active and genuinely peaceful. Light a butter lamp, sit quietly for a while. We will be back in Kathmandu by evening.

Day 4: Fly to Bhairawa and drive to Lumbini

On this day, an early morning domestic flight takes you to Bhairawa (also called Siddharthanagar) in the Terai lowlands. From the airport, it is a smooth 20 minute drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha. Check into your hotel and spend the afternoon settling in. Take your first walk through the Sacred Garden at dusk, when the light is golden and the atmosphere is still. This is a place of immense peace. Let it find you.

Day 5: Sightseeing in Lumbini

A full day here and it does not feel like enough. We start at the Maya Devi Temple, the exact spot where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama around 563 BC. You can see the ancient ruins, the sacred Puskarini pond where she bathed and the Ashoka Pillar that Emperor Ashoka put up in 249 BC when he came on his own pilgrimage. After that we explore the Monastic Zone, which is honestly one of the most interesting parts. Countries from all over the world such as Myanmar, Thailand, China, Korea, Sri Lanka each built their own monastery here. Same faith, completely different architecture. It is worth taking your time and walking through each one. We will end our day with a sunset walk along the central canal or a quiet candlelit ceremony if one is happening.

Day 6: Drive to pokhara

Morning drive to Pokhara, Nepal’s lakeside city nestled beneath the Annapurna range. After check in, visit Tashi Palkhel (also known as Hyangja), a vibrant Tibetan refugee settlement where you can meet artisans, visit the gompa and purchase hand-crafted Buddhist items directly from the community. In the late afternoon, take a gentle boat ride on Phewa Lake and row across to the small island temple of Barahi for a moment of quiet reflection. The Annapurna peaks at golden hour are simply unforgettable.

Day 7: Sightseeing in Pokhara old heritage side ( 10 km, 30 min)

We wake up before sunrise for this one. We head to Sarangkot Hill to watch the sun come up over the Himalayas – Annapurna, Machapuchare, Dhaulagiri, all coming out of the dark one by one. It is one of those moments. After that we visit Ganden Yiga Chöling Monastery, one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the whole Pokhara valley. The afternoon is yours, wander the lakeside, find a spot by the water with a cup of butter tea or just sit and think about everything you have seen over the past week. Tomorrow we fly back.

Day 8: Fly back to Kathmandu

A morning flight brings you back to Kathmandu. The afternoon offers a final chance to revisit Boudhanath for some final offerings, pick up any remaining souvenirs. Your farewell dinner this evening is a chance to share memories of the road, the stupas, the monks and the mountains. Nepal has a way of staying with you long after you leave.

Day 9: Departure at Kathmandu airport.

After a relaxed breakfast, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey. Carry with you the merit of every butter lamp lit, every stupa circled and every moment of stillness found along the way. Safe travels.
