Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Your Nepal Honeymoon tour starts as soon as you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. Step out of the plane and the vibrant energy of Kathmandu welcomes you, the smell of incense in the air, the faint ring of temple bells and the warm smiles of the Nepali people. Our representative will pick you from the airport and proceed to check in to your hotel. After check-in refresh yourself. With your new spouse, spend your first night arm in arm roaming the vibrant streets of Thamel – Kathmandu’s most romantic place bustling with cozy cafes, candlelit restaurant and quaint little shops. Celebrate your new adventure together with a leisurely dinner of Nepali dal bhat or continental fare in an inviting ambience.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Today you will know why Kathmandu is known as the City of Temples. We will begin your day with a visit to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most important Hindu temples in the world. Situated on the holy banks of the Bagmati River. The spiritual vibe here is something that stays with you long after you leave.
Then heads towards the grand Boudhanath Stupa, one of the biggest stupas in the world. Walk along the circular path, spinning the golden prayer wheels, as the serene atmosphere envelops you. Nearly every couple says it feels like the universe is blessing their union.
Finish off your sightseeing day at Swayambhunath, the iconic Monkey Temple, where you ascend cobblestone steps to a hilltop stupa that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Kathmandu Valley. Watch the city turn golden as the sun begins to set.
End the day with an open air dinner in Thamel, accompanied by mountain views and soft Nepali folk music.
Day 3: Patan, Bhaktapur and Drive to Nagarkot
Your day begins at two of the Kathmandu Valley’s most beautiful destinations. First, visit Patan Durbar Square, a magnificent showcase of ancient Newari architecture, intricate woodwork and centuries old temples that will truly leave you speechless. Then, proceed to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most remarkably preserved medieval cities in all of Asia. Wander its cobbled streets, gaze up at the towering Nyatapola Temple and do not leave without savoring a taste of the famous juju dhau, the city’s beloved creamy yoghurt. A small but delightful taste of local joy. Then leave the valley behind and make your way up to Nagarkot, situated at 2,195 meters above sea level, passing through pine forests, terraced fields and sleepy mountain hamlets along the way. Check in, step out onto your balcony and take a deep breath. Watch as the Himalayan peaks turn amber and pink in the fading light of sunset, one of the most romantic evenings Nepal has to offer. Set your alarm early. Wake up early in the morning to witness the sunrise over the Himalayas with sweeping views of the Everest range on a clear day. This is the moment Nagarkot is truly famous for and once you see it, you will understand why.
Day 4: Fly to Pokhara
After your magical Nagarkot sunrise, make your way back to Kathmandu to catch your brief domestic flight to Pokhara, Nepal’s most romantic city and perhaps one of the most beautiful places in the world. As you land, you are sure to be mesmerized by the gleaming surface of Phewa Lake with the snow-capped Annapurna range in the background. Check in to your hotel by the lake, then head straight to Phewa Lake for a relaxing afternoon boat ride. As you row across the tranquil, glassy water with Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) reflecting on the surface, it is hard to believe it is not a dream. In the evening, take a leisurely walk along the Lakeside Promenade as the mountains turn a lovely shade of pink at sunset. You will find a charming lakeside restaurant, the perfect setting for a romantic dinner with a view you will never forget.
Day 5: Pokhara Exploration
Today, you will be enjoying the natural wonders of Pokhara at a relaxed, unhurried pace, just the two of you. Begin with a short boat ride to the Tal Barahi Temple, a small island temple located in the middle of Phewa Lake. It is a profoundly spiritual and uniquely beautiful place that feels like a world apart from the everyday. Stop by the roaring Davis Falls, a river that plunges dramatically into an underground tunnel. Then slip into the mystical Gupteshwor Cave right next door, a natural limestone cave sheltering a sacred Shiva shrine deep beneath the earth. Visit the International Mountain Museum in the afternoon to learn about the legendary peaks that surround you or simply sit at a quiet lakeside cafe and while away the late afternoon gazing at the mountains as they reflect in the lake, over a cup of coffee and a plate of momo. As evening falls, kayak or paddle across Phewa Lake together, then settle in for a candlelit lakeside dinner under the stars.
Day 6: Sarangkot Sunrise View and Adventure
Today is the day that will become the story you tell for the rest of your lives. Rise before the sun and drive up to Sarangkot viewpoint, arriving just in time to watch the first golden light of dawn paint the Annapurna range in shades of fire and rose. The silence, the cold mountain air and the colors unfolding across the sky make for an almost spiritual experience. Many couples say this sunrise moved them to tears. After breakfast, brace yourselves because it is time for tandem paragliding over Pokhara. You can also opt for Bungee jumping if you wish. Launching from Sarangkot, you and your partner soar like birds above Phewa Lake and the Himalayan foothills, with the entire Annapurna range laid out before you. There is truly no more exhilarating way to celebrate your love. In the afternoon, explore the Pokhara lakeside area at your own leisure, browse the restaurants, enjoy the live music venues and simply go wherever your hearts take you.
Day 7: Travel to Chitwan
This morning, you leave the mountain peaks behind and make your way to Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s first national park to achieve UNESCO World Heritage status and one of the finest wildlife reserves in Asia. The journey itself is part of the adventure, whether you take a tourist bus through the picturesque river valleys or hop on a quick flight. Upon arrival in Sauraha, the gateway town of Chitwan, you will be welcomed at your jungle lodge, think open-air rooms with natural wood interiors and the sweet twitter of birdsong all around you. Once you have checked in and settled into life in the jungle, the evening unfolds at a gentle pace. Take a leisurely walk through the Sauraha village, soaking in the laid-back charm of this riverside town. As night approaches, gather around the campfire for a traditional Tharu cultural show, a wonderful glimpse into the rich indigenous culture of the Terai, with vibrant music, dance and storytelling that will leave you enchanted under the jungle stars.
Day 08: Jungle Safari
This is the day you meet Nepal’s wild side. Rise early for a morning jeep safari deep into Chitwan National Park. Accompanied by an expert naturalist guide, your open-top jeep winds through dense Sal forests, towering grasslands and along riverbanks where wildlife is most active during the cool morning hours. Keep your eyes wide open, a one-horned rhinoceros grazing in the tall grass is almost a guaranteed sighting. Elephants, spotted deer, grey langur monkeys and crocodiles are commonly spotted as well, hundreds of exotic bird species. And if fortune smiles on you, you may just catch a rare glimpse of the elusive Bengal tiger, moving silently through the trees. Spend a leisurely afternoon exploring the village of Sauraha on foot or by bicycle, stop by the elephant breeding center or simply unwind at your lodge and soak in the sights and sounds of the jungle coming alive around you. After all, spotting a tiger on your honeymoon is the kind of story that never gets old.
Day 09: Return to Kathmandu
Your jungle chapter draws to a close as you make your way back to Kathmandu. The drive or flight back gives you time to reflect on all the extraordinary moments you have shared, the sunrises, the mountains, the lake, the wildlife. Back in Kathmandu, spend your last afternoon doing what this city does best – shopping in Thamel. Pick up handcrafted Pashmina shawls, hand-painted Thangka art, silver jewellery, singing bowls and traditional wooden souvenirs to take a piece of Nepal home with you. As night falls, treat yourselves to a special farewell dinner at one of Kathmandu’s finest rooftop restaurants – candlelight, mountain views, good wine and the best memories of your lives still fresh in your hearts.
Day 10: Departure
All good journeys must come to an end but what you take from Nepal will stay with you forever. Spend your final morning in quiet and leisurely fashion at the Garden of Dreams (if time available) – an exquisitely restored neo-classical garden tucked away in the heart of Kathmandu, where fountains, pavilions and flowerbeds provide the perfect setting for a tranquil farewell. When the time arrives, your driver will escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. Nepal gave you mountains to climb together, lakes to drift across, jungles to explore together and sunrises that took your breath away. You arrived as newlyweds but you leave as each other’s greatest adventure.
