Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi ( 120 kilometers (75 miles) ( 7 - 9 hrs)
We’ll depart on a picturesque drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the entry point to the Langtang region, following an early breakfast. We travel through winding roads that provide breathtaking views of terraced fields, thick forests, and quaint villages. The trip usually takes about seven or eight hours. You’ll see the scenery change from the busy city to the tranquil Himalayan foothills as we progressively ascend. Along the way, we’ll pause a few times to stretch our legs and take in the amazing surroundings. We’ll check into our lodge when we get to Syabrubesi and get ready for the upcoming trekking expedition.
Day 3: Trek from Syabrubesi to Briddhim ( 5 - 6 kilometers (3 - 4 miles) ( 4 - 5 hrs)
We set out on our journey from Syabrubesi to the quaint village of Briddhim today. The trail passes through verdant forests, terraced fields, and traditional Tamang villages. It offers a combination of gentle and step sections. You’ll get a taste of the vibrant local culture and friendly greetings as we stroll. We’ll get
breathtaking views of the Langtang Himal range during the five to six-hour hike. When we get to Briddhim, a charming village nestled on a hill, we’ll have time to explore and get a taste of the way of life there. We’ll experience real village life while spending the night in a comfortable home stay.
Day 4: Trek from Briddhim to Lama Hotel
Our hike today takes us along a picturesque trail that meanders through thick forests of oak and
rhododendron, from Briddhim to Lama Hotel. The Langtang River’s calming sounds accompany us as we
make our way up and down. The trail is home to a wide variety of birds, monkeys, and red pandas, among
other wildlife. We will reach the quiet rest stop of Lama Hotel, tucked away in the forest, after roughly five
to six hours of trekking. Here, amidst the Langtang region’s breathtaking natural surroundings, we will
spend the night.
Day 5: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley
We continue our trek today from the Lama Hotel to the most scenic portion of the route—the Langtang
Valley. The trail slowly climbs through thick forests, providing views of peaks covered in snow as it goes.
The scenery opens up as we ascend higher, showcasing vast meadows and grazing yaks. We will arrive at
the quaint village of Langtang, which is tucked away in the valley and encircled by majestic mountains,
after about five to six hours of hiking. Before spending the night, we’ll have time to explore the village and
take in the breathtaking vistas after arriving.
Day 6: Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyangin Gompa
Today’s trek takes us from Langtang Valley to the peaceful and spiritually significant Kyanjin Gompa. Since the hike only lasts three to four hours, we have plenty of time to take in the breathtaking scenery. As we stroll, you’ll see how the surroundings change from thick vegetation to mountainous areas with sweeping views of the nearby peaks, including Langtang Lirung. We’ll travel to Kyanjin Gompa, an old monastery where you can explore local Buddhist customs and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. You can choose to continue your exploration this afternoon or just kick back and take in the breathtaking mountain views all around you.
Day 7: Rest Day at Kyanjin Gompa / Hike to Kyangin-Ri
You have the opportunity to rest today at Kyanjin Gompa and take in the breathtaking surroundings while
you acclimate. For those with more energy, we’ll hike to Kyangin Ri, a nearby viewpoint with amazing 360- degree views of the Langtang range, which includes Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, and other magnificent peaks. It’s a strenuous but worthwhile hike that takes three to four hours total. As an alternative, you can unwind at Kyanjin Gompa, go to the nearby cheese factory, or just take in the tranquility of the mountains.
Day 8: Trek Back from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel
We start our journey back today, retracing our steps through the breathtaking Langtang Valley, from
Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. You will be able to revisit the tranquil areas we passed on the way up and
enjoy the breathtaking mountain views from a new angle as we descend. The walk is relatively easier
because it is mostly downhill and takes about 6-7 hours. We’ll travel through well-known towns and forests along the route, offering lots of opportunities to see wildlife and take in the peaceful surroundings. After arriving at Lama Hotel in the afternoon, we’ll relax and think back on the amazing experiences we’ve had over the last few days.
Day 9: Trek Back from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi
Today, we complete our trek by making our last descent from the Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi. We follow the
trail past the quaint villages we saw earlier, through verdant forests, and alongside the Langtang River. The walk takes about 6 hours and is primarily downhill, so we can take our time and enjoy the serene surroundings. You’ll have one last opportunity to admire the splendor of the Langtang region as we get
closer to Syabrubesi. Then, we’ll head into our lodge for the night and prepare to celebrate finishing our
trek successfully.
Day 10: Drive Back from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu
We drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi today, ending our trekking adventure. The scenic drive,
which winds through quaint villages, verdant forests, and terraced fields, takes about seven or eight hours.
You’ll see the abrupt change from the serene mountain landscape to the vibrant city as we descend from
the Himalayas. Along the way, we’ll pause a few times to stretch and take some last pictures of the
breathtaking scenery. You’ll be taken to your hotel upon arrival in Kathmandu, where you can relax and
think back on the amazing experiences of the previous few days.
