Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara to Ghandruk

The very first day of your Annapurna Base Camp Yoga trek starts with departing from flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. And from lakeside city of Pokhara depart for Ghandruk-the breathtaking Gurung village set at 1,940 meters. It is a 3 to 4-hour drive, and there lies a short gentle uphill walk through green hills and terraced fields. Ghandruk warmly welcomes you into a landscape of traditional stone houses whose narrow lanes echo with vibrant culture. Here you will be presented with your first close-up views of the Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the sacred Machapuchare- the Fishtail Mountain! The serene ambiance of this village is perfect for acclimatization and soaking up mountain solaces.

Day 2: Ghandruk to Chhmorung

You start your journey toward Chhomrong, which is 2,170 meters above sea level, on Day 2. After meandering through rhododendron trees, the trail drops sharply to the Kimrong Khola before climbing once more. Small towns, suspension bridges, and picturesque vistas will all be in your path. The trail’s final permanent hamlet, Chhomrong, has stunning mountain views. It’s a fantastic spot to relax, recharge, and get ready for the more challenging climbs that lie ahead.

Day 3: Chhomrong to Himalaya

On day three, you hike from Chhomrong to the Himalaya (2,920 meters), delving deeper into the Annapurna Sanctuary. After descending to the Chhomrong Khola, the day starts with a strenuous ascent to Sinuwa. With the sound of flowing rivers below, the trail then continues through thick forests of oak and bamboo, which are pleasant and shaded. Before arriving at Himalaya, a tiny resting place tucked away in the valley, you will travel through Bamboo and Dovan. Here, the terrain gets more isolated and rocky, and the elevation rises dramatically.

Day 4: Himalaya to ABC

The trek’s highest point, Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 meters), is reached on Day 4. The day begins early and climbs slowly beyond Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC) and Deurali. As the flora disappears, stony landscapes and glacial streams take its place. The trek leads from MBC into a broad alpine plain that is encircled by some of the world’s highest peaks. You will be rewarded with 360-degree views of Hiunchuli, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and other magnificent mountains as you arrive at ABC. This is a location of awe, snow, and solitude, with an overpowering spiritual and natural force. You will spend the night at the base camp after taking in the scenery.

Day 5: ABC to Dovan

You start your descent on Day 5 and make your way back down to Dovan. Although physically simpler, descending calls for cautious footing on the rocky paths. As you descend into warmer temperatures and denser air, the vista is still breathtaking. Dovan is a calm and peaceful place for a good night’s sleep, surrounded by forest and waterfalls.

Day 6: Dovan to Jhinu Dadha

You start your descent on Day 5 and make your way back down to Dovan. Although physically simpler, descending calls for cautious footing on the rocky paths. As you descend into warmer temperatures and denser air, the vista is still breathtaking. Dovan is a calm and peaceful place for a good night’s sleep, surrounded by forest and waterfalls.

Day 7: Jhinu Dadha to Pokhara

A private vehicle will take you back to Pokhara after your final hike on Day 7 down to the road around Siwai or Samrung. The trip provides a last opportunity to take in the mountain air, trees, and songbirds. After arriving in Pokhara, you can settle into your accommodation, eat a healthy supper, unwind by the lake, or get a massage. The last day you will hike and roam around before returning to Kathmandu from the Annapurna base camp yoga trek,
