Pokhara city is an outstanding city with natural beauty that rests under the shadow of the Himalayas. Pokhara is Nepal’s second largest city in Nepal and is one of the pleasing tourist destinations. It is also the starting point for most of the treks in the Annapurna region, including the famous Annapurna Base Camp Trek. In Pokhara you can experience the best in trekking, boating, trekking, rafting, and extreme sports like rafting, canyoning and bungee jumping, hiking, pony rides, paragliding or simply relax at one of the lakes near the city with the stunning Annapurna mountain range at the background.  Many tourists visit Pokhara Valley to see the Himalayan range and lakes.

Located a few 200km west of Kathmandu, at an altitude of 827m from the sea level and directly under the Annapurna mountain range the city of the lake, Pokhara is situated. Despite being geographically smaller than Kathmandu, its geography varies within just a few kilometers from north to south.

David fall is a glorious waterfall lying at 2 km south-west of downtown of Pokhara. The waterfall marks the point where the Pardi Khola stream vanishes underground. The echo of water sinking over the falls is deafening during the monsoon when the stream is at full bore.

  • World Peace Stupa

The World Peace Pagoda is a stunning Pagoda which stands out the top of the hill on the southern border of Phewa Lake. The dome-shaped pagoda has four images of the Buddha facing the four directions. The pagoda has remarkable architecture. It offers magnificent views of the Annapurna range and nearby hills. You can either hike to the pagoda or take a vehicle up to the hilltop.

The Old Bazaar is a barren disparity to Lakeside, Pokhara. The traditional bazaar is a vibrant crowd place for a diverse group of traders. The architecture, temples, and monuments in the bazaar bear a close similarity to the Newari architecture of the Kathmandu Valley. Bindhyabasini Mandir is one of the most important temples in Pokhara lies in the old bazaar.

Pokhara is known for its supernatural caves. These mysterious caves of Pokhara call up a vision of a city hidden under the ground.  Mahendra Cave, Chameri Gupha, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, The Crazy Cave, Balkailaseswor Cave, and Siddheswor Cave are some of the caves of Pokhara that offers thrilling adventure.

  • Pokhara Regional Museum reflects the ethnic mixture of western Nepal. The museum showcases the lifestyles and history of ethnic groups in the region.
  • Annapurna Museum, also known as the Natural History Museum, has a diverse collection of flora and fauna of the region. The museum also holds some of the precious stones and volcanic rocks.
